The eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is an excellent choice if you want the cleaning ability and advanced features of a Roomba – without the high price tag.

The RoboVac 11S is a crazy good bargain.

It may not seem so at first because it lacks most of the top features found in premium Roomba and Neato robots. There’s no WiFi, no virtual barriers, no smart scanning and mapping and no smart home integration.

But when it comes to what matters – keeping your floors spotless – many customers say they’d actually prefer the eufy RoboVac 11S over a Roomba any day. It’s that good.

In this model, eufy has boosted the suction power to ensure the vacuum can easily pick up dirt and pet hair on hard flooring and low-pile carpeting.

Overall Impression

To be honest, I think budget brands like Eufy and ILIFE have done more to make Robotic Vacuums popular compared to brands like Roomba.

Sure, Roomba gets the credit for starting the revolution. But it’s these lower priced brands that have allowed more people to enjoy the convenience of a robotic vacuum cleaner.

The eufy RoboVac 11S provides a Roomba-level cleaning thoroughness (some would say it’s better) at less than half the cost.

One of the things I love about the RoboVac 11S is the extra suction power.

Most low-priced robot vacuums can only clean hardwood floors. The RoboVac 11S cleans a low-pile carpet just as well as a wood or tile floor. It is especially good at picking pet hair.

So if you are looking for an affordable robot vacuum for pet hair, the eufy RoboVac 11S is a great choice.

They have also made it much slimmer than other robot vacuums, ensuring it can dive under furniture without getting stuck.

If you are not ready to pay $500 or more for a robot vacuum cleaner, the eufy RoboVac 11S is a more pocket-friendly option that cleans just as well if not better than some of the pricier alternatives.

Cleaning Ability

eufy BoostIQ

Features like WiFi and voice control are cool, and all but in the end what you probably care most about is how well the robot vac cleans your floor.

This is where the RoboVac 11S shows its true value. It cleans really well.

And that’s not just my opinion. This vacuum currently has a rating of 4.6/5 from over 150 customer reviews. It is also an Amazon’s Choice product.

Even Roombas don’t get rated this well. Most people will complain about one issue or another.

For the RoboVac 11S however, almost 90% of the reviews are positive (4 & 5 stars). Most of the customers who rate it highly say they have pets. That’s actually the main reason they got the robot.

With their cats or dogs leaving hair everywhere, it was hard to keep the house clean.

As one customer put it, ‘their lives changed’ when they got this vacuum. It collects more dirt and pet hair than most other robot vacuums with barely any noise and without getting stuck.

What makes it so good?

As I mentioned earlier, Eufy has made the RoboVac 11S more powerful than their previous models. Its suction power is rated at 1300Pa.

This is not much compared to normal corded vacuum cleaners which can have suction power as high as 20,000Pa. But it’s a lot coming from such a small gadget.

It’s also plenty when compared to other vacuum cleaners. The Neato Botvac Connected which costs almost twice as much has a suction power of 1400-1500Pa. Most budget robot vacuums have the suction power that’s less than 1000Pa.

With its generous suction power, the RoboVac 11S is able to lift more debris and dirt. When it gets to an area with concentrated dirt or climbs onto a carpeted section, it automatically boosts suction power for better cleaning.

The RoboVac 11S also deploys a set of brushes to pick up dirt on hard flooring and carpets.

Two spinning side brushes agitate dust on hard flooring and bring in hidden debris from the corners and along wall edges. A roller brush helps pick up stubborn debris and pet hair especially on carpeting.

The robot uses a triple filter system to ensure even tiny bits of dander and dust are picked up. There is the pre-filter for large particles, a foam filter and a high performance filter for the tiniest bits of dirt.

All the collected dirt is then dumped into a large dust bin.

Cleaning Modes

eufy BoostIQ

The RoboVac 11S has several cleaning modes which you activate from the remote control.

Auto mode – This is the default mode. The robot navigates automatically as it cleans. The average cleaning time in this mode is around one and a half hours after which the robot goes back to dock.

Spot cleaning – The robot cleans around a specific spot in a spiral pattern. Ideal for cleaning a non-liquid mess such as food crumbs or dirt.

Edge cleaning – The robot moves until it gently bumps into a wall. It then moves along the wall edge as it cleans. This mode runs for 20 minutes after which the robot goes back to the dock.

Single room cleaning – The robot cleans a single room for 30 minutes. You’ll need to close the door to prevent the robot from getting out of the room.

Manual cleaning –You can use the navigational buttons on the remote to direct the robot in whichever direction you want.

Power modes – There are three power modes that you can select using the power level button on the remote control: standard power (normal cleaning), Boost IQ (robot automatically increases or decreases power depending on the situation) and Max (full power – increases noise level and reduces battery life).

Note that power level can only be changed when the robot is in auto mode or single room cleaning mode.

Navigation

eufy BoostIQ

The eufy RoboVac 11S doesn’t have an advanced navigation system. It will not scan or map your house prior to cleaning, unlike premium robot vacuums.

Instead, it simply begins cleaning in a fairly random pattern. But it’s surprisingly effective even without the advanced mapping features. It can easily sense obstacles and avoid them and can clean large areas in roughly the same time as other robot vacuums.

The extra low profile design allows the robot to get under furniture without getting stuck. It’s able to access places where even a traditional vacuum struggles to reach. That’s important because those out-of-sight areas are where dust mites, pollen, and other allergens accumulate most.

One feature I like (and which I’m sure you are going to appreciate) is the manual control. The remote has navigational buttons which you can use to direct the robot specifically where you want it to go. They come in handy when you only need to clean a specific spot or when the robot misses a spot.

Note that the RoboVac 11S does not come with virtual barriers or magnetic boundaries. If you want to keep it from a certain area either close the door or use a physical obstacle.

And as with any other robot vacuum, it’s highly recommended that you clear the floor before you start vacuuming.  Things like toys, clothes, and cables can trip it up.

Automation and Scheduling

eufy BoostIQ

The eufy RoboVac 11S has an auto-recharge feature which means it can automatically get back to the charging dock when the battery gets low, or it finishes vacuuming.

It doesn’t work perfectly. It can be a bit slow finding its way back to the dock and sometimes it gets stuck. But most of the times it works well enough.

You can schedule the robot to vacuum every day at a specific time. Since it vacuums very quietly, you can set it to clean at night without worrying that it will wake you up or disturb the neighbors.

The scheduling is not as versatile as in other robot vacuums (for instance, you cannot set a different time for each day) but it’s good enough for most people’s needs.

What It Misses

Of course, it misses a lot. There are many advanced features you are not going to get in a sub-$300 robot vacuum.

If you want remote app control and monitoring, Alexa voice control or cleaning reports, this is not the bot you are looking for.

But if you don’t really need those extras, then the eufy RoboVac 11S won’t feel inadequate at all. It has everything it needs to keep your floor spotless.

I wish the navigation was a bit smarter and the scheduling more flexible but other than that the RoboVac 11S is a great robot vacuum cleaner.

Maintenance

eufy BoostIQ

Maintenance is easy.

After every cleaning, all you need to do is empty the bin and do a quick check on the filters and brushes for any stuck particles.

Clean the filters weekly and replace them every 2 months. The rolling brush should also be cleaned weekly (there’s a cleaning tool included) and replaced every 6-12 months.

As for the side brushes, clean them monthly and replace them every 3-6 months or as soon as they appear worn out.

Other parts that need regular cleaning include the brush guard (every month and replacement every 3-6 months), sensors, charging pins and front swivel wheel (all three once a month).

Pros

  • Affordable.
  • Excellent cleaning ability – great value for your money.
  • Powerful suction.
  • Great for pet owners.
  • Auto-recharge.
  • Easy to maintain.

Cons

  • No smart features.
  • Limited scheduling.
