Overall Impression
The Jet 240 is a one-room automatic floor cleaner designed for hardwood floors and flat hard surfaces.
You’ll need to change the pad after every room is cleaned. The battery also needs to be charged manually.
This means the cleaning process is a bit more hands-on than many other robotic vacuums require.
Cleaning Ability
The 240’s precision jet spray cleans and loosens dirt, and then a vibrating cleaning head gently scrubs away dirt and stains. This design makes cleaning hardwood, tile, and stone floors much easier.
Navigation
The Braava Jet 240 uses the iAdapt 2.0 navigation system that allows it to sweep and mop in hard to reach areas by using a systematic cleaning pattern. The small square shape of this cleaner lets it get under and around many obstacles.
The navigation system also remembers obstacles and will slow down in order to gently clean along walls and furniture.
Automation & Scheduling
The Braava Jet 240 does not have automatic scheduling.
You simply press the clean button on the device and place it in the area that you would like it to clean. It has to be manually charged.
What It Misses
This little unit does not vacuum up debris, but instead is focused on picking up dirt and dust with its dry pad.
In addition, it lacks automatic recharging and scheduling features.
Maintenance
When the Jet 240 is finished with a job, you hold it over the trash can and push the eject button to toss away the disposable mopping pad.
You will get 2 of each type of pad when you order this duster/mop.
You will need to buy more disposable pads, later. There are reusable pads available for purchase, as well.
